You can skip questions and go back later by selecting Back. You can go on to the next question by selecting Next. Select the word or phrase to see a definition or explanation. Some passages include a word or phrase that is underlined in blue. The directions indicate how many points you can receive. Most questions in the Reading section are worth one point, but the last question in each set is worth more than one point. In this practice test, you will answer questions about three passages. If you receive four passages, you will have 72 minutes to respond. If you receive three passages, you will have 54 minutes to read the passages and answer the questions. You will read three or four passages and answer the questions. In the actual test, each passage in the Reading section is followed by 9 OR 10 questions about that passage. The Reading section of the TOEFL iBT test measures your ability to understand academic passages written in English. Instead, you will see sample responses for each task. In this practice test, you will not write your responses. The second writing task will ask you to write your opinion about a topic or issue. The first task asks you to write about the relationship between a passage you have read and a lecture you have heard. In the Writing section, you will see two types of writing tasks. Instead, you will hear sample responses to the four questions. In this practice test, you will not record your responses. In the Speaking section, you will be presented with four questions that ask you to speak about a familiar topic and about a passage you have read and/or a lecture you have heard. In the actual test, there is no review screen in the Listening section. You may also check your answers on the Review Screen which will appear at the end of the section. Unlike the actual test, you will be able to review the correct answer for each question by selecting “Show Answer”. In the Listening section, you will answer questions about conversations and lectures. In the actual test, the Reading review screen will only show you which questions you have answered. In the Reading section, you will answer questions about reading passages.
